ASUS ZenFone 4 Pro ZS551KL SE (Z01GD) Firmware is ready to download. There
are two ways to flash or update Zenfone 4 Pro first, self-update (mean copy the ASUS Zenfone 4 Pro firmware to SD card and update from recovery menu. The second way is using PC or Laptop using sideload command or fastboot mode.

Update ASUS Zenfone using SDcard?

1. Copy ASUS Zenfone firmware to SD-Card and rename with update.zip
2. Boot phone into recovery mode by pressing and hold power button and volume up or down
3. In recovery menu select update
4. Choose the update.zip and wait till update asus finish

How to Update ASUS Zenfone with Sideload?

1. Turn off ASUS Zenfone
2. Access recovery menu by pressing and hold power button and volume up or down
3. In recovery menu select update using sideload
4. Attach Asus Zenfone to PC and install driver
5. Open ADB command prompt and type

adb sideload xxx.zip

6. Wait until update finish

How to Update ASUS Zenfone from Fastboot Mode?

1. Download ASUS driver and ADB tools
2. Turn off your ASUS Zenfone
3. Press and hold power on button and volume up or volume down
4. After you see fastboot notification on screen, attach ASUS Zenfone to PC and install ASUS Zenfone driver
5. Copy ADB tools to the same directory with your ASUS Zenfone firmware
6. Press and hold SHiFT keyboard on PC and do right-click mouse, you will see "Open command window here" menu (it will open adb tool with command prompt). You can see here what command for fastboot mode.

Example:
fastboot flash xxx.zip, or
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (to flash specific region)

fastboot flash (region) (must the same file name as region with extension)

Important Notes for Update Procedures

1. Check software version of your device**
2. Download device software and Update SOP (From “Manual” Item)
3. Only apply to same SKU update, Example: WW->WW, CN->CN, TW->TW.
4. Software update cannot transfer the software SKU.
5. Wrong SKU may cause update failure, please update the same SKU version only.

Path: Settings->About-> software information->Build number
